Shaul Shalev, Ph.D. - Founder and COB (Acting CEO)

Shaul Shalev is an experienced entrepreneur, with a profound scientific basis and extensive background in the research, development and implementation of advanced interdisciplinary systems.

Before founding ShellTiers, Shaul was active as a founder/CEO or COB for several Israeli and US start-ups that were focused on E/O-defense systems, wireless communications, mobile commerce solutions and clean-technologies. Before moving into the "start-up" arena he served as a senior researcher and consultant to Israeli government R&D centers, and as a faculty member of Tel Aviv University school of Physics. Prior to that, he served as a Research and Development officer for an Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) R&D unit managing development projects for airborne systems.

Shaul brings to ShellTiers a vast amount of experience in developing, integrating and establishing initial markets for pioneering interdisciplinary solutions.

Shaul holds a B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Physics (all with excellence) from Tel Aviv University.

Colonel (reserve) Yoram (Yori) Sofrin – Founder, (Acting COO)

Yoram (Yori) Sofrin is a civil engineer with extensive experience in military engineering and civil defense.

Prior to his position at ShellTiers Yori served as the president of IsraTeam, a consultancy firm, focused on emergency management and preparedness, which he co-founded.
Yori served, for about 25 years, as a civil engineer with different units of the IDF's Engineering Corps, Air Force and Home Front Command. Yori's last position in uniform was as the commander of the Civil Protection Division, IDF Home Front Command.

Yori brings to ShellTiers significant insight in threat analysis, defining solutions for protection systems, planning emergency management systems, and crisis communications with the public in emergency situations.

Yori holds a B.Sc. from the Technion Israel Institute of Technology and an M.Sc. from the Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, USA, both in Civil Engineering.
